Scott likes to make modifications to his guitars to fit his unique style of playing, so this will be a perfect opportunity for him to give the inside scoop on a few of his instruments.

Nov 17 2018 with Ernie Clark & the Magnificent Bastards

We return to the stage with another show with our good friends Ernie Clark & the Magnificent Bastards. They put together a cool bill for Quinn & Tuite’s Irish Pub on November 17, 2018.

We really dig the bad ass rock n roll vibe these of Ernie Clark & The Magnificent Bastards.

Its classic old school American rock distilled to its bare elements, with a smooth-as-cheap-whisky country finish. The perfect music to drive to…. or fix your broke ass truck to….  as the case may be.

Black Cat Bone on Spotify

We finally got our act together and released both albums for distribution on Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, Amazon, and Spotify and a whole boatload of other sites.

We are on most of those sites under the moniker “Black Cat Bone 616”, using the Grand Rapids area code to separate us from the other artists out there using the name Black Cat Bone. There’s at least one in every country…. The oldest seems to be from the 70’s in Canada,  the current big deal is out of the UK… but the best Black Cat Bone is from the heart of the Rust Belt…. dirty ol’ Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA!

Mid-West Coast Blues”  from 2013, and “Jealous Is Poison” from 2017 have already available on our site, as well as Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and Reverbnation for some time, but we felt that it was important to broaden our horizons. You can download music for free or at a name-your-own-price on those sites.

Restrepo BLUES –
Hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, this former rock performer cut his teeth in a variety of establishments and festivals during the most prolific era of the Colombian Blues scene. However, a lifetime of Rock & Roll frontmanship would lead to a more intimate relationship with the roots of American music and culture. From mundane to boisterous to outright risqué, Camilo’s soloist repertoire ranges from classic Robert Johnson takes, to the more obscure predecessors of the genre, while stopping to salute folk masters such as Dave van Ronk.

Wuzee –
As a founding member of The Almighty Foot Clan, WuZee has gained a reputation as one of the most entertaining performers in West Michigan. Though he draws massive influence from hip hop titans such as MF Doom and Wu-Tang Clan, WuZee’s upbeat style and choice samples never fail to draw a crowd. A nimble lyricist in his own right, WuZee continues to collaborate with many hip hop groups and performers from around the country.

Brother Adams –
The unique combination of acoustic and electric instrumentation brings the idea of folk-rock to a new, almost experimental level in Holland-bred Brother Adams. The raw, Modest Mouse-esque rock ‘n’ roll vocals add even more urgency to the trio’s sound, urging the audience to scream the lyrics right along. That being said, a Brother Adams live performance is one not to be missed: These guys love to pull the audience into the expressive passion they pour out on every stage they step onto.

Black Cat Bone –
Black Cat Bone is a roots music collective exploring the depths of neo-primitive blues and dirty folk. Inspired by the Lomax recordings of early 20th century sharecroppers and prisoners of the rural southern states.
Black Cat Bone utilizes bottleneck guitar, harmonica, and drums to deliver their nihilistic version of the american music experience. Delivering songs about god, the devil, and the lost and lonely souls in between, Black Cat Bone serves up the type of stuff you can play while drinkin’ on the front porch with your friends and family… simple, raw, honest.

Black Cat Bone on Flyover Podcast episode #10 & #11

Patrick Porter’s Flyover Podcast series featured our song “Black Cat Bone” from our recent album “Jealous Is Poison” (available on SoundCloud & BandCamp)

Flyover Podcast is an indie project focused on music and interviews with bands from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Flyover Podcast is constantly on the lookout for new, interesting music to feature on the podcast series, which according to sources, operates out of a huge network of caves hidden deep in the remote wilderness of Wisconsin.

It is rumored that any unfortunate souls that stumble across the clandestine location of Flyover Podcast’s Secret Underground Laboratory have met an untimely demise at the hands of angry Sasquatches that roam the forest…. Perhaps you should just contact them at their Facebook page instead… just sayin’…

UPDATE 9-6-2017

Flyover Podcast Episode 11 includes the title track from our new album “Jealous Is Poison”. Take a listen to the podcast below

Farmer John videos posted

Friday July 28 2017 Black Cat Bone played at the Tip Top Deluxe in Grand Rapids MI, taking the middle slot between Elroy Meltzer and Left Lane Cruiser.

We ran into Farmer John who helps out with a lot of the shows at the Tip Top Deluxe. Farmer John is also the founder of the Cowpie Music Festival in Alaska, Michigan. They host some of the best live music to be found around yonder parts and are something you should check out.

He asked us to do a short interview, which he then posted on his Facebook account. Farmer John also captured our first song in the set in a separate video.
