We finally got our act together and released both albums for distribution on Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, Amazon, and Spotify and a whole boatload of other sites.
We are on most of those sites under the moniker “Black Cat Bone 616”, using the Grand Rapids area code to separate us from the other artists out there using the name Black Cat Bone. There’s at least one in every country…. The oldest seems to be from the 70’s in Canada, the current big deal is out of the UK… but the best Black Cat Bone is from the heart of the Rust Belt…. dirty ol’ Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA!
“Mid-West Coast Blues” from 2013, and “Jealous Is Poison” from 2017 have already available on our site, as well as Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and Reverbnation for some time, but we felt that it was important to broaden our horizons. You can download music for free or at a name-your-own-price on those sites.
Patrick Porter’s Flyover Podcast series featured our song “Black Cat Bone” from our recent album “Jealous Is Poison” (available on SoundCloud & BandCamp)
Flyover Podcast is an indie project focused on music and interviews with bands from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Flyover Podcast is constantly on the lookout for new, interesting music to feature on the podcast series, which according to sources, operates out of a huge network of caves hidden deep in the remote wilderness of Wisconsin.
It is rumored that any unfortunate souls that stumble across the clandestine location of Flyover Podcast’s Secret Underground Laboratory have met an untimely demise at the hands of angry Sasquatches that roam the forest…. Perhaps you should just contact them at their Facebook page instead… just sayin’…
Flyover Podcast Episode 11 includes the title track from our new album “Jealous Is Poison”. Take a listen to the podcast below

Black Cat Bone has just released our new recording on Bandcamp for immediate streaming and download. CD’s are in the plans for the near future.
Jealous Is Poison was recorded live at a local screen print shop, Bad Mojo Design, in Grand Rapids, MI.
The album consists of 9 tracks. The album was recorded by our drummer David Schofield. Every track was captured in less than 3 takes to maintain the intregity of Black Cat Bone’s rough cut style, with minimal overdubbing, and minor post-production editing to clean up the tracks
Sessions for recording our album are coming along smoothly. Today we record Ryan on the doghouse bass.
The next step will be to capture any overdub tracks we want to add before we begin mixing down the final product. We are excited to have a finished album by the end of summer to share with it friends.
Stay tuned for details -scott/black cat bone
